The Initial Consultation
All Divorce Shoppe services start with an Initial Consultation. Every journey needs a road map and the Initial Consultation will help you to understand and make choices about how to move forward to resolution.
The consultation usually takes about 90 minutes. You will meet with a mediator, talk about your family and review all the options available so you can select the process that is best for your circumstances.
Initial consultations are available online and are open to couples throughout the State of Oregon.
If possible, both spouses (or partners) should come to the initial consultation. It is always better to start on the same page. However, if meeting together is not possible, due to scheduling or preference, the absent spouse/partner can schedule a second consultation — at no additional charge — so that both spouses/partners have access to the same information.
Your mediator will gather information about your family and give you basic information about divorce in Oregon. We suggest clients bring a list of questions, and we will do our best to get your questions answered during the Consultation.
The cost is $175.00, payable by credit or debit card. If you then hire the Divorce Shoppe for additional work, the consultation fee is applied to future services, resulting in a free consultation. .We schedule Initial Consultations Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, except for Fridays, when the last appointment time begins at 4:00 pm.
